Gia Tudoran – We Grew Up Too Fast

never forget – “happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”

This shiny and nostalgic, 35mm film photo-series, “We Grew Up Too Fast”, by Gia Tudoran was taken in a small theme park by using a Konica C35. Gia has a very strong connection with kids’ rides and neon lights, and the series speaks about overcoming childhood trauma:

“this one’s for the kids that grew up too fast. the kids with bad childhoods. the kids from poor families. the kids who got picked on at school. the kids who self-harmed. the kids who had jobs at 15. the kids who cried themselves to sleep every night and still do when no one’s watching.

you are not defined by your past. you are not defined by your parents. you are not defined by your previous or current financial situation. you are not defined by anything anyone else may think or say about you.

you were born to be a fighter. i’m so proud of you for becoming the powerful person you are today. i want you to believe in yourself as much as i believe in you. you are invincible.”
