Joy! is about a young woman named Joy Paterson who is very much eccentric and independent. She spent most of her childhood in foster care due to the death of her mother from a heroin overdose …
This authentic photo-story shot on 35mm film and Fuji Instax Polaroids was submitted by freelance writer and creative director Q’ayyim Mckoy. He recently completed one of his passion projects entitled, “Joy!”.
“Joy! was originally a think piece inspired by the beautiful women I’ve been blessed to encounter. I started to brainstorm the concept of the fictional character, Joy Paterson in 2017. So, in Sept. 2018; I was honored to collaborate with art director and photographer, Piera Moore and model Raquel Clark on bringing Joy Paterson alive.”
