Here comes a new, atmospheric and wonderfully cinematic-looking 35mm film photo-series by New York City – based filmmaker and analogue photographer Eli Freireich.
“Taking cues from my recent series “Flash Frame”, I felt compelled to explore an aesthetic which more heavily emphasized a grimey noir element. “College Avenue” is darker and conveys something which is sickly and suggestive. I relied heavily on green tones, even grain structure and an oily background (thanks to lens fungus) to capture Sarah as she explored the environment of my Bronx apartment building.”
