David PD Hyde x Carmen Haigh – Lucid Dream

Golden sunlight, a beautiful nostalgic feeling and an all in all angelic appearance brings this analogue editorial by photographer David PD Hyde.

Creative director and stylist Carmen Haigh who sent us this photo-series wrote:

“The shoot was inspired by ideas relating to varying sleep states and dreaming, particularly the phenomenon of lucid dreaming, a dream in which the dreamer is aware that they are dreaming.

Dollgarden, a new online vintage brand, provided the wardrobe for this shoot. I wanted the images to say something about the identity of the brand, which is in itself inspired by the interplay of innocence, romance and darkness. The shoot similarly plays on these elements; the distressed abandoned location provides a stark dreamscape in which our Alice-esque character finds herself lost in reverie. As the sun set and the light faded, I took the styling darker in attempt to reflect our environment, which was another way to play with the core themes of darkness and innocence.”
