Visual artist Jessica-Rose Lena often submits such cheerful and happy in colour-looking photo-stories. Like this one which combines a cheeky, carefree expression of model Alex Lawson, a pastel coloured background and surrounding and a really dope style. With a cute make-up art by Hannah Elliot.
“The inspiration behind this shoot was just from hearing the phrase ‘I’m a girl’. For some reason it caused me to really evaluate what a girl in todays society is, what do they look like? act like? The reality is that there shouldn’t be any format for what makes a girl. However society is still bound by deeply ingrained standards of what being a woman is and so what girls should be doing to prepare for that. These images are a mixture of stereo types and juxtaposition of societies ideals of girlhood intended to provoke questions in the viewer, and then lead them to question why they are questioning it, because after all can’t a girl be anything she wants in 2017?”
